校長挨拶
本校は日本国文部科学省から認可を受けた在外教育施設であり、併せて英国政府より学校法人として設置を認可され英国の私立学校としてのステイタスをもつ英国では唯一の全日制日本人学校です。
昭和５１年 (１９７６年) １０月に日本クラブ (小学部) と日本大使館広報センター (中学部) を仮校舎として、児童５４名、生徒２５名、計７９名で開校されました。その後、年々増加する児童生徒のため、昭和５２年 (１９７７年) ４月にカムデンに、そして、昭和６２年 (１９８７年) には、現在地ウエストロンドンのイーリング区アクトンに校舎を移転しました。
校舎は１００年を超える歴史をもつ総レンガ造り一部三階建ての重厚なたたずまいです。周辺の住環境との調和を考えながら日本の教育内容に適応するように増改築を重ね、全天候型グラウンド・屋内体育館・日本の蔵書を多く揃えた学校図書館などの施設・設備を有しており、約３００名の児童生徒は日々伸び伸びと学んでいます。
教育目標「自ら学び、心豊かに たくましく国際社会を生きぬく児童生徒の育成」の下、合言葉「自立・貢献・気品」の実現を令和６年度学校経営の重点として、一人一人の人間力を伸ばすきめ細やかな教育活動を推し進めています。

Greetings from the Headteacher,
Thank you for visiting our website. Our school is the only full-time Japanese school in the UK with the status of a public school in the UK, and is an overseas educational institution approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, and is also approved by the British Government as a school corporation.
The school opened in October 1976 (Showa 51) with 54 pupils and 25 students (79 in total) in temporary premises at the Japan Club (primary school) and the Japanese Embassy Public Relations Centre (junior high school). In April 1977, the school moved to Camden and in 1987 to its current location in Acton, Ealing, West London, to accommodate the growing number of students.
The school building is a stately, all-brick, partly three-storey building with a history of over 100 years. The school has been extended and reconstructed to adapt to Japanese educational content while considering harmony with the surrounding residential environment, and has facilities and equipment such as an all-weather playing field, indoor gymnasium and a school library with a large collection of Japanese books. 300 pupils are learning in a relaxed atmosphere every day.
Under the educational goal of "developing students who can learn on their own and live strongly in an energetic and international society", and with the slogan "independence, contribution and dignity" as the focus of school management in 2023, the school is promoting detailed educational activities to develop each student's personal strengths.
